JUVÉDERM is an increasingly popular injectable filler that was FDA-approved in 2006 for the treatment of facial folds, wrinkles, and hollows. Using hyaluronic acid – a natural sugar found in your eyes, skin, and joints – Juvéderm improves your skin’s elasticity and smoothes out wrinkles for a more youthful overall appearance.
Juvéderm comes with a few notable advantages over other facial fillers, including:
- Biocompatible – Since hyaluronic acid is a naturally-occurring substance already found in your body, it is safer to use than some other injectables.
- Smooth gel consistency – The Juvéderm gel is smooth and even in its consistency, helping it provide superior results. Other injectable fillers can be more granular.
- Longevity – The results of Juvéderm can last anywhere from six months to a full year before follow-up treatments are needed.
- Convenience – Juvéderm is a non-surgical procedure that can be performed during a lunch break. It requires no downtime and a minimal recovery process.

If your nose is crooked, overlarge, or simply does not complement the proportions of your face, rhinoplasty can be a valuable solution. Nose surgery is also often used to correct the constricted breathing that comes with a deviated septum. Whether your nose problems are cosmetic or medical, Dr. Lefkovits can help.
However, it is important that you meet a few basic qualifications in order to be a good candidate for rhinoplasty. Some of these requirements include:
- Nose has stopped growing – This usually happens at around age 15 for girls, and later for boys.
- In strong metabolic health – Rhinoplasty is an invasive surgery that requires you to be in good health and free of major medical problems in order to proceed.
- Realistic expectations – After examining your nose, Dr. Lefkovits will help you understand what rhinoplasty can accomplish in your unique case.
Rhinoplasty can transform the overall appearance of your face, but it may not be right for everyone. The best way to find out if you are a good rhinoplasty candidate is to schedule a consultation with Dr. Lefkovits.

Once you decide to move forward with a breast augmentation, you will have a variety of breast it options to choose from. Choosing the right breast implants for you will involve a few different factors, including:
- Type of breast implant – Saline breast implants are FDA-approved for use in women age 18 and older, and silicone breast implants are FDA-approved for women age 22 and older. Each breast implant type comes with unique advantages and drawbacks. Dr. Lefkovits will discuss these in detail with you during a personal consultation.
- Size of breast implant – Selecting your breast implant size is not just a matter of choosing the bra size you want to be. Breast implant size is measured incubic centimeters (cc). Different factors can influence your ideal size – including your existing breast volume, breast skin thickness, chest shape, and ribcage size
- Placement of the incision- The incision can be placed underneath the breast( inframammary) which is the most site across the country. Dr. Lefkovits also uses the periareolar approach which is at the lower pole of the areola.
- The breast implant pocket- Dr. Lefkovits most commonly uses the subpectoral approach ( underneath the muscle) but at times suggests the above the muscle approach.
Each of these factors and more will be evaluated during your consultation with Dr. Lefkovits. He will recommend the type, size, and shape of implant that he believes would provide you with the best results, but in the end, the final decision will be up to you.

Your liposuction recovery time will vary depending on how extensive your procedure was. For patients who had minimal treatment, recovery may only last a matter of days, but for others it can last a few weeks. Dr. Lefkovits can give you more details on what to expect after he has determined which areas of your body will be treated, and how much fat will be removed.
We provide our patients with special compression dressings to wear in the initial days after surgery. These help to ensure proper drainage of the tumescent fluid and speed your recovery along. Full drainage will take around three to five days to complete. During this time, we will monitor your condition through a follow-up visit to ensure that your incisions do not close too early.
Around a week after surgery, Dr. Lefkovits highly recommends that patients begin a series of 5 to 6 weekly massage and ultrasound treatments in-house. These sessions will facilitate your healing process by reducing swelling and stimulating your body’s blood supply.
Within a couple of weeks, you will begin to see improvement in your overall appearance. Your final results will not be fully revealed until the swelling has completely subsided. During the recovery process, the skin surrounding your treated area might seem loose, but as long as it has good elasticity, it will gradually tighten over time.
If you have further questions about recovery from liposuction, please contact New York breast surgeon Dr. George Lefkovits today to schedule your consultation at Park Plaza Plastic Surgery. You can also reach us by phone at (212) 750-9494.
- Currently at or near your goal weight
- Have at least a moderate degree of sagging of the breasts
In cases where there is stretched skin combined with decreased breast volume a combined breast lift with augmentation will most likely be necessary.
You can still become pregnant after a breast lift, but a new pregnancy can compromise your results by stretching out your breast skin again. For this reason, Dr. Lefkovits recommends that you wait to have a breast lift until you are finished having children. This will help your results last longer.

Breast ptosis – the technical term for sagging breasts – is a natural consequence of the aging process. However, many women develop ptosis far earlier in life thanks to pregnancy, massive weight loss, or the effects of genetics. Low, drooping breasts can make you look much older than you really are.
A breast lift can solve this problem by removing loose, excess skin that has been stretched and raising your breasts back up to a higher position on your chest. The result is a tighter, firmer, and more proportionate bustline overall.
A good breast lift candidate should meet the following basic requirements:
- Age 18 or older
- In good physical and emotional health
- Not pregnant, and not planning to become pregnant
- Currently at or near your goal weight
- Have at least a moderate degree of sagging of the breasts
In cases where there is stretched skin combined with decreased breast volume a combined breast lift with augmentation will most likely be necessary.
You can still become pregnant after a breast lift, but a new pregnancy can compromise your results by stretching out your breast skin again. For this reason, Dr. Lefkovits recommends that you wait to have a breast lift until you are finished having children. This will help your results last longer.

Liposuction is one of the most popular cosmetic surgery procedures performed in America every year. Men and women who have worked hard to keep their bodies in shape can become discouraged by localized fat deposits in their thighs, arms, abdomen, or neck. These fat pockets often resist the effects of the best diet and exercise routines.
A good liposuction candidate is already physically fit and no more than 20 pounds overweight. Contrary to popular belief, liposuction is not an alternative to weight loss. It is designed to sculpt the body, not to dramatically change your weight. In fact, removing too much fat increases your chance of complications, and is not recommended.
Good liposuction candidates also:
- Are not planning to lose or gain a significant amount of weight (i.e. during pregnancy)
- Have firm, elastic skin
- Are in strong metabolic health
If you suffer from a serious medical condition like lung disease, heart disease, or diabetes, you may be more vulnerable to liposuction side effects. Good health is an essential prerequisite for liposuction. The healthier you are, the better your results will be.
If you have further questions about liposuction, please contact New York breast surgeon Dr. George Lefkovits today to schedule a consultation at Park Plaza Plastic Surgery. You can also reach us by phone at (212) 750-9494.

Weight loss, pregnancy, and the inevitable effects of aging can all contribute to loosened breast skin and sagging breasts. “Drooping” breasts take a toll on the self-confidence of many women, who feel younger than their breasts make them look. An effective breast lift can solve the problem of sagging. However, some patients who have smaller breasts might also want to take advantage of a breast augmentation.
In the past, performing both of these procedures in a single surgical session (called an “augmentation-mastopexy”) was seen as risky. A woman who wanted both procedures would usually have them performed separately. Today, however, improved techniques allow plastic surgeons to safely resection a patient’s breasts after breast implants have been placed. This enables women to experience the results of both procedures at once, saving both time and money.
Keep in mind that not everyone is a good candidate for this combined procedure. In some cases, a breast augmentation can actually hinder the results of a breast lift. Dr. Lefkovits can discuss your options with you during a personal consultation. Your body type, initial breast size, and skin elasticity will all be factors in determining your candidacy.
If you have further questions about combining a breast lift with a breast augmentation, please contact New York breast surgeon Dr. George Lefkovits today to schedule a consultation at Park Plaza Plastic Surgery. You can also reach us by phone at (212) 750-9494.

Breast asymmetry affects close to 10% of women. In most situations, one breast is slightly larger than the other. Some women may not even desire surgery since the difference is so minor. Unfortunately, other women suffer from more pronounced breast asymmetry that becomes worse as they grow older.
Asymmetry in the breasts can be effectively corrected using the following methods:
For some patients, the best results will come from a combination of these two surgeries. For example, a breast augmentation might be performed on one breast, while a reduction is performed on the other, giving you a more proportional look and a more desirable breast volume. Dr. Lefkovits will work with you during a personal consultation to develop the right surgical approach.

Every year, American patients receive over 4.5 million injections of BOTOX® Cosmetic. Despite its overwhelming popularity and history of success, some patients still have concerns about the safety of BOTOX®.
Like any medical treatment, BOTOX® comes with the risk for potential complications, but the vast majority of these side effects are minor, and the risk of suffering a serious side effect is extremely small.
Some of the side effects associated with BOTOX® include:
- Bruising
- Pain
- Infection
- Headache
- Temporary eyelid droop (less than 1% of patients)
One of the ways Dr. Lefkovits helps his patients avoid serious BOTOX® side effects is by thoroughly reviewing their medical history prior to treatment. Some medical conditions can prevent you from being a good BOTOX® candidate. If you have a condition that would make BOTOX® unsafe for you, Dr. Lefkovits will discuss alternative facial rejuvenation options with you.
If you have further questions about BOTOX®, please contact experienced New York cosmetic surgeon Dr. George Lefkovits today to schedule a consultation at Park Plaza Plastic Surgery. You can also reach us by phone at (212) 750-9494.
